Terms of Service
Last updated 28 September 2026
These terms govern your use of PeerVet, operated by Ginux Technologies Limited (RC 9817372), a company registered in Nigeria. By using PeerVet you agree to them.
The most important part is the next section. Please read it even if you skip the rest.
What PeerVet is, and what it is not
PeerVet tells you whether an account number, phone number, wallet address or seller handle has been reported to us, and screens payment screenshots for signs of tampering. It is an information service to help you decide for yourself.
PeerVet is not a credit bureau, a licensed financial institution, an escrow service or a payment processor. We never hold your money. We do not verify identities, and a result from us is not a certification that anyone is honest.
No reports does not mean safe. It means nobody has reported that identifier to us yet — which is also true of every scammer on their first trade, and of anyone who simply switched to a new account number. Treat a clean result as the absence of a warning, never as a recommendation.
What a receipt check can and cannot tell you
Our receipt analysis examines the image for inconsistencies and compares it against receipts other traders have shown us. It can tell you a screenshot looks altered, or that the same image has already been sent to other people.
It cannot tell you whether money actually left anyone's account. Only your own bank can confirm that. A screenshot that passes every check we run may still be a fake we could not detect, and a genuine screenshot may be flagged. Never release goods, cash or crypto on the strength of a screenshot alone.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract under Nigerian law.
- Your account is tied to your phone number. Keep access to that number secure — anyone who can receive your codes can use your account.
- One account per person. Creating additional accounts to file more reports, or to get around limits, is a breach of these terms.
Filing reports
Reports are the foundation of everything PeerVet says. A false report can damage someone who has done nothing wrong, so the rules are strict.
- Report only what actually happened to you, in a trade you were part of. Do not file reports on someone else's behalf or based on something you heard.
- Describe it accurately. Do not exaggerate an amount, a date or what was agreed.
- Do not use reports to pursue a grudge, to damage a competitor, or to pressure someone in a dispute that is not fraud.
- Only upload evidence you have the right to share. Do not upload another person's identity documents.
- We review reports before they count towards anyone's rating, and we may ask you for more detail or decline a report.
Filing a report you know to be false may be a criminal offence under Nigerian law, quite apart from these terms. We will remove such reports, may close your account, and will cooperate with a lawful investigation.
If someone reports you
Anyone can dispute an entry about them at peervet.ng/dispute, with no account and no fee. A person reviews every dispute and we remove anything that cannot be supported.
Trade codes and confirmations
Trade codes let a buyer and a seller each confirm that a trade completed. They are a record, not a guarantee. PeerVet is not a party to your trade, does not hold funds, and cannot reverse a payment, recover goods or enforce anything between you.
Seller profiles
If you publish a seller profile, you are choosing to make that page public. It shows only what a check on you would already show.
Do not pick a handle or display name that impersonates another business or person. We may reclaim a handle that does, or that is being used to mislead.
Acceptable use
- Do not run automated or bulk lookups against PeerVet, scrape the service, or try to extract our database.
- Do not resell, republish or redistribute results as your own dataset.
- Do not use PeerVet to harass, threaten or expose anyone.
- Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, interfere with the service, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission.
Availability
PeerVet is offered as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, that every result will be accurate, or that features will not change. We may suspend or end the service, or any account that breaches these terms.
Limits on our liability
You decide who to trade with. PeerVet gives you information to inform that decision and cannot make it for you.
To the fullest extent Nigerian law allows, we are not liable for money you lose in a trade, for a trade you declined because of a warning, for a report that turns out to be wrong, or for anything arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and material changes will be announced in the product. Continuing to use PeerVet after a change means you accept it.
